QUEENSLAND ABORIGINAL AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER PEOPLE In Queensland during 2014, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people had a higher victimisation rate than non-indigenous people for the following offences:
In Queensland, a larger proportion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander victims of sexual assault were aged 0-19 years (75% or 346 victims) compared to non-indigenous victims of sexual assault (66% or 2,081 victims).
